Policies and Procedures

PAYMENT PROCEDURES: You may pay yearly, by the semester or monthly. There is a $45 one¬time registration fee per family to be paid at registration. See the attached fee chart for further information regarding rates. Payments can be made by check, cash or online (beginning Aug. 20) by credit card by going to the Shepherd Elementary web site (drop down menu Resources: Extended Day).

Late Pick-up: Pick-up is at 6:30pm. Please make arrangements to pick your child up by this time. A late fee of $1 per minute will be assessed after 6:30pm until the time of sign-out based on the sign-out desk clock. Fees for late pick-up should be paid at the time of pick-up in the form of cash or check or as otherwise arranged with the Program Director.

Late or non-payment fee: Monthly payments are due by the 1st of every month unless the 1st falls on a Saturday, Sunday, holiday or non-after care day – in which case, the payment is due on the very next after care day. A late payment fee of $25 shall be assessed on all payments made after the 5th of the month. Parents paying late are not eligible for the multiple child discounts during the month of payment (See Rate Schedule). If payment is not made by the 5th day of the month, parents will be assessed $10 per day after the due date until the 15th day of the month. After the 15th day of the month, your child will no longer be eligible for participation in the aftercare program until such time as all fees have been paid. No exceptions will be given for payment once late. Parents experiencing difficulties are encouraged to make arrangements with the Program Director prior to becoming late. Arrangements will be handled on a case-by-case basis according to availability and need.

Returned Checks: A returned check fee equivalent to any assessed bank fees plus any then incurred late fees plus $5 will be assessed on all returned checks.

Prior Acts: Those parents who failed to complete their financial obligation in the 2011-2012 school year cannot register their child/children this year until their balance is satisfied. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Scholarships: A limited number of partial scholarships may be available on program enrollment, participation and budget. Parents receiving scholarships may be required to volunteer at the program from time to time. Any scholarships available will be provided based on financial need. To qualify, parents must fill out and return the application and financial information forms. Applications will be available by 8/20/2012. Decisions will be made within the 1st two weeks of school.   • On site: Early registration is available August 22-24 from 9 am to 5pm in the Shepherd library. Parents may also register children on the 1st day of school.
  • Electronic: August 20th – see the Shepherd Website.
  • Mail-in: Registration forms may be mailed (with payment) to Shepherd Elementary (Attn: Claire Riley, Program Director, Shepherd Elementary School Star Achievers). Please make checks payable to Shepherd Elementary Star Achievers.

Registration forms and payment must be in-hand prior to your child being
allowed to participate in the program. NO EXCEPTIONS.
